DONATE FOR A LEADER WITH SOLUTIONS, NOT EXCUSES

New Orleans is in trouble. Our streets are broken, crime is out of control, and too many families are struggling. We can’t keep making excuses — it’s time for real solutions.

I’m Arthur Hunter, and I’m running for mayor because I know we can rebuild this city the right way.

I grew up in New Orleans East. I played football on my neighborhood NORD playground, went to St. Augustine High School, and later joined the New Orleans Police Department. I worked full-time as a cop while going to law school at night. I became a lawyer, then a judge. I’ve seen the system from every side — but I haven’t been compromised by it.

I know what it takes to fix what’s broken.

We need to make our city safe again. That means putting more police officers on the streets — not just driving by — but walking in our neighborhoods, talking to people, and building trust. We need our local officers working closely with State Police and federal law enforcement to keep everyone on the same page.

We need to fix our streets the right way — no more patchwork jobs that fall apart in six months.

We need better opportunities for our kids. We can team up with schools, churches, medical clinics, and nonprofits to create year-round programs that keep kids safe and give them the tools they need to succeed.

And we need to support local businesses so they can grow, create jobs, and bring life back to our neighborhoods.

I won’t have millions to spend on this campaign, but that’s never mattered to me. I entered public service to do the work — respect people and make a difference in the city. That’s why I’m running for mayor.

I need your help to win. I need your time, your energy, and your voice. Spread the word — because this is your city, my city, our city.

No more excuses — only solutions. Let’s get to work.

In Bourbon Street security zone for Super Bowl, coolers are out but guns are OK
By John Simerman and Jeff Adelson | NOLA.com January 31, 2025
As crowds descend on Bourbon Street in the run-up to the Super Bowl, they'll be met by a layer of checkpoints aimed at enforcing new restrictions that state officials say will keep the crowds safe. But the new ring of defenses won’t keep out one of the deadliest weapons in America: the firearm.
Ensuring we all feel safe and are stably employed

Ever since the 9/11 terrorist attacks that took down the World Trade towers in New York, cities been more aware that these tragedies can happen anywhere. In particular, the city of New Orleans as been declared a soft target for a terrorist attack, partly because of the large crowds that gather here, on our streets.
Being a New Orleans Police officer is a tough job!
By Arthur Hunter January 3, 2025
As a former New Orleans Police Department officer, I can tell you from first-hand experience that being a New Orleans Police officer is a tough job. You will be placed in dangerous situations and have to make split decisions to protect people, even if it means disregarding your own safety.
